Strong Showing by Cougar Indoor Track Team at States

On a cold, crowded day at Spire Institute, the Lake Catholic Indoor Track Team showed their stuff!

In Division 1 Boys, junior Del'Mario Hairston won the Long Jump with his jump of 23' 8", a Spire record and a good 5" ahead of the nearest competitor. He also podiumed in the 400M taking 6th place with a 49.94 which was less than a second behind the winner. Matt Kirchner ran a personal best in a competitive field in the 1600M finishing with a 4:26.69, finishing just 5 seconds away from the top 8.

In Division 2/3 Girls, junior Chloe Keating made the podium in the girls D2/3 400M relay with her PR and 8th place time of 1:00.22.  She narrowly missed out on the podium for her 60M finishing 9th, just .1 seconds behind senior De'aja Wilson of Lutheran East with her school record time of 8.03. She also set a season PR in the 200M, running a 26.93.

The Lake Catholic Track team is poised for a strong outdoor season.
