Congratulations to Junior Del’Mario Hairston who took fourth in the Championship Division long jump March 10 during New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York.
Hairston went 23 feet, 4 inches, with the top three all over 24 — Dyshon Vaughn (24-5 1/2), Jeremiah Willis (24-5 1/2) and Kevin Snyder (24-1). He was consistent, never jumping under 22' nor did he fault. For full results, click here.
Hairston was the Emerging Elite Division long jump indoor national champion last year with a best effort of 23-8. Just last weekend he earned the Ohio Indoor Division 1 Championship, this coming off a sophomore outdoor campaign when he finished third in Division I long jump at state, earning first-team News-Herald honors.
Del'Mario gets a brief reprieve to enjoy his accomplishment before getting back to competition later this month.
