Results from the Willoughby Invitational


The Lake Catholic Track team took advantage of the nice weather to put together some impressive performances.

The boys team took 4th place behind some solid performances. Here are the performances that earned points for the teams.

  •  Luke Frazier 1st place HJ with 6’
  • Cyncere Watkins 2nd place HJ with 5’ 10”
  • The 4x800 team of Matt Kirchner, Alex Hansel, Alex Mohr and Christian DeMitro took 2nd place with their 8:22.18, just 5 seconds behind Mentor.
  • The 4x100M team of Griffus, Robert Morgan, Nate Rieple, & Conley took 2nd with their 45.21, just 0.1 behind Mentor.
  • Christian DeMitro finished 2nd in the 800M with a time of 2:02.97
  • Matt Kirchner had a 2nd place finish in the 3200M with a time of 10:05.35
  • Del’Mario Hairston 2nd place LJ with 22’ 2.75”
  • Phil Kuhn 7th place in pole vault with 9’ 6”
  • Carson McNellie 6th place discus with 120’ 7”
  • Sean Jones 9th place discus with 111’ 9”
  • Del’Mario Hairston had the best 100M time with his 11.03 in the prelims. In the finals, DJ Griffus took 3rd place with a 11.52 and Kevin Conley 7th with 11.87.
  • Kevin Conley took 6th in the 200M dash with his 23.62
  • Gabe DeMitro took 7th in the 1600M with a 4:44.29
  • The boys 4x400M team of Christian DeMitro, Luke Rako, Sam Hudik, & Landyn Miller finished 4th in the 4x400M with a time of 3:40.40

 The girls team finished 8th. Here are the point earning performances.

  • Elaine Szep finished in 3rd place in the pole vault with 8’ 6”
  • Chloe Keating 3rd place 100M with 12.82
  • Chloe Keating took 1st in the 400M with her 1:00.96, holding off Mentor’s Kayla Zdanowicz by less than 1/10 of a second.
  • Marshai Cooper took 10th place in Shot with 29’ 3.25”
