It feels great to have the first real meet under our belt! All things considered, I thought Berkshire went really well; everyone was on time for the bus, the new tent debuted to rave reviews, and the kids generally competed to the best of their abilities. We do need to do a better job of disposing of food wrappers and water bottles so that there isn't a bunch of trash to pick up at the end of the meet, but aside from that, my complaints are minimal!
Congratulations to Alex Hansel (8th), Gabriel DeMitro (16th), Neil Jones (38th), Alex Mohr (44th), Mila Udovicic (22nd), and Chloe Keating (32nd) for earning medals for placing in the top 50 individuals. In the team standings, the boys took 5th out of 23 teams and the girls took 11th out of 19 teams.
Results with mile 1 and mile 2 splits (as well as average pace) are here. Personal records are in bold, so additional kudos to everyone who set PRs: Gabriel DeMitro, Alex Mohr, Brenden Latkovich, Isaac Pacheco, Tommy Kaminoski, Maddy Frisbie, Kaitlyn Moriarty, Nicole Pappas, Dan Guban, Alexis Pacheco, Liam Frisbie, Tristan Simko, and Evan Mastrangelo. As you can see, we're using adjusted times for the boys varsity race based on the fact that the course was 186 meters short on account of the ATV Driver taking a wrong turn. The varsity girls and JV boys ran the full 5,000 meters.
