    Original

The Lake Catholic Cross Country team had a great first showing at the Willoughby South Invitational on a warm and crowded course.  In an event featuring 23 teams and over 650 runners, the boys took 2nd place and the girls took 13th.

The boys were paced by Jacob Keating's 1st place finish and blistering pace of 15:51 which broke a 5 year old course record by 20 seconds.  Matt Kirchner (16:59) and Colin Waddle (16:59) also placed 5th and 6th respectively and Keller Dittoe 36th (18.06).  The top 4 boys received medals and the team a runner up plaque.

The girls were led by newbie senior Erin Ward's 22:19, followed closely by Abbey Rojeck (22:42).

The team had 7 PR's today as well. Congratulations to Colin, Keller, Josh, Alex, Ben, Chloe and Jaylah!  And congratulations to Erin, Jayla, Josh, and Ben on your first official cross country race.  Welcome to the team!
