    Cougar XC Perseveres at Walsh

    Original

What a difference a week makes! The conditions at Saturday's Walsh Jesuit Tomahawk Run were difficult with high humidity and temps in the mid to upper 80's causing the entire field to have slower times overall.  Lake's Cross Country felt it, having come from Kenston where most of the team PR'd.  This meet was a slog for sure and all of the athletes show tremendous determination pushing through the adversity caused by the weather.

Congratulations to Abbey for finishing 18th in the Girls D1 race, accomplishing her goal of getting in the top 25! Colin Waddle finished 5th and Matt Kirchner 12th in the Boys D1 race. For their accomplishments they all received a very "cinch pack".

Congratulations also goes out to the athletes that were able to improve their time this year versus last year's meet at Walsh (and the conditions were much better last year). Great job Abbey, Chloe, Colin, Matt, Alex and Bri Grai!!!

Jacob, Keller, Connor and Erin were all missed this week as they were all taking the ACT.  The team will be back to full strength next week at the Galion Cross Country Festival.
